Tracy Cortez returns to her original weight class as a pro MMA fighter, the flyweight division after taking her first two UFC fights at 135lbs prior — and winning them both.
She did miss weight by half a pound due to miscommunication but that didn't seem to phase Cortez at all.
Going into this match we knew this opponent would be a little different from her prior fights, Kish being mainly stand up fighter (muay thai) but spoke to Eddie Cha, her striking coach and reassured we would be seeing a whole new Cortez in the octagon. From the start, Kish being aggressive throwing strikes, Cortez was standing toe to toe but as time was ticking she did what she does best, taking the game to the ground. It was clear from there (almost getting a rear naked choke and guillotine) Tracy dominated all 3 rounds and walked with the victory with a few scruffs.
This was Tracy's third fight in the UFC but first in the United State, Las Vegas to be specific. With that being said friends and family traveled to Vegas to show their support.
Due to the restrictions space was limited to attend the Apex arena but we were able to get together with friends and family and celebrate in Vegas not far.
Everyone was repping something from the Cortez Collection; it was a pretty epic moment!
Our CEO Randall Pich enjoying the Victory with Tracy's brothers, Abraham and Jr. Cortez who is also a pro MMA fighter.
Congratulations Tracy on a spectacular performance!
